2. James works as a System Administrator in Pioneer Services International, which is a leading software solution provider company in New Zealand. The company has its head office in Auckland. Recently, the company has opened a new office in Sydney. The new office requires 120 Windows 8 desktops and the same desktop configuration settings that are used in the head office. Therefore, James needs to capture the image of Windows 8 from a reference computer located in the head office. For this, he decides to create the appropriate Win PE using MDT and WDS. Help James accomplish the desired task.

In order to accomplish the desired task, James needs to perform the following tasks:
1. Install MDT 2012 in the EBDD_SRV1 virtual machine.
2. Install the WDS role in the EBDD_SRV1 virtual machine.
3. Configure the WDS role in the EBDD_SRV1 virtual machine.
4. Create an MDT 2012 deployment share.
5. Configure the MDT 2012 deployment share.
6. Create a task sequence for the reference computer.
7. Update the deployment share.
8. Add boot image to WDS.



Task 1. Install MDT 2012 in the EBDD_SRV1 virtual machine.
1. Press the windows key.
2. type \\172.16.0.200, and then box is displayed.
3. type the user name password of the host computer in the user name and assword text boxes, respectively.
4. click the ok button. the 172.16.0.200 window is displayed.
5. Double-click the software window is displayed.
6. Double-click the MicrosoftDeploymentToolKit22012_x64 file. the open file security warning dialog box is displayed.
7. click the Run button. the Welcome to the Microsoft Deployment ToolKit 2012 Updata 1 (6.1.2373.0) setup Wizard page is displayed.
8. click the next button. the end-user license Agreement page is displayed.
9. select the A accept the terms in the License Agreement cheak box.
10. click the next button. the Custup page is dislayed.
11. click the next button. the customer ExperienceImprovement program page is displayed.

Task 2. Installing the WDS Role in the EBDD_RV1 virtual machine.
1. Ensure that the server manager window is open and active.
2. Click the add role and features link. the Before you begin page of add role and Features wizard is displayed.
3. click the next button. the select installation type page is displayed.
4. click the next button. the select server roles page is displayed.
5. click the next button. the select destination server page is displayed.
6. select the windows Deployment services check box. the Add roles and Features wizand dialog box is displayed.
7. click the next button.
8. click the next button. the WDS page is displayed.
9. click the next button. the select WDS .
10. click the next button. the select role services page is displayed.
11. click the next button. the confirm installation selection page is displayed.

Task 3. Configuring the WDS role in the EBDD_SRV1 virtual machine.
1. Press the windows key.
2. type computer management, and then press the enter key. the computer managermet node under disk 1 in the windows is displayed.
3. select the disk management node in the left pane.
4. Right-click the offline option under disk 1 in the middle pane, and then select the Online option.
5. right click disk 1, and then select the Initializa disk option. the Initializa disk dialog box is displayed.
6. click the ok button.
7. right click the unallocated spae, and then select select the new simple volume vozard option. the Welcome to the New simple volume
   wizard page of New Simple volume Wizard is displayed.
8. click the next button. the specify volume size page is displayed.


Task 4. Create an MDT 2012 Deployment Share.
1. Switch to the EBDD_SRV1 virtual machine.
2. Press the windows Key.
3. Type deployment Workbench, and then press the enter key. The deploymentWorkbench  window displayed.
4. Right click the deployment share option. the path page of new deployment share wizard is displayed.
5. Replace the existing text in the Deployment share path text box with E:\DeploymentShare.
6. click the next button. the share pagge is displayed.
7. click the next  button. the descriptive name page is displayed.
8. click the next button. the options page is displayed.
9. clear all the check boxes.
10. click the next button. the progress page is displayed and disappears automatically. Thereafter, the confirmation page is displayed.
11. Click the finish button.


Task 5. Configuring the MDT 2012 Deployment Share
1. Ensure that the DeploymentWorkbench windows is option.
2. Expand the Deployment Shares MDT deployment Share (E:\DeploymentShare) node, and then select the Operation Systems node.
3. Click the Import Operating Systen link in the Actions pane. the Os type page of Import Operating System Wizard is displayed.
4. click the next button. the Source page is displayed.
5. Select connection window. the Open dialog box is displayed.
6. Browse to the D:\EBDD\Softwore folder.
7. select the windows8.iso file.
8. click the open button.
9. click the Browse button on the source page. the Browse for folder dialog box is displayed.
10. Expand the computer node, and then select the DVD Drive (D:) node.


Task 6. Creating a Task Sequence for the Reference computer.
1. select the task sequences node in the left pane. the MDT Deployment Share (E:\DeploymentShare) node.
2. Click the new task sequence link in the Actions pane. the General setting page of new task.
3. type WIN8_x64 in the task sequence ID text Task.
4. type windows 8 Entreprise Edition x64 in the Task sequence name text box.
5. click the next button the select Template page is displayed.
6. click the next button. the select OS page is displayed.
7. select the windows 8 Enterprise in windows 8 Enterprise x64 install.wim node under the Operating system node.

Task 7. Updating the Deploment Share.
1. Ensure that the Deployment Workbench window is open and active.
2. select the MDT deployment share (E:\DeploymentShare) node in the lift pane.
3. Click the Updata Deployment Share link in the Actions pane.

4. click the next button. the Summaty page is displayed.
5. Click the next button. the Progress page is displayed.
6. Click the Finish button.

Task 8. Adding Boot image to Wds
1. Switch to the Windows Deployment services window.
2. Expand the EBDD_SRV1. Adatum services windows.
3. Right click the Boot image node, and then select Add bootimage.
4. type E:\DeploymentShare\Boot\LiteTouch_x64.wim in the file location text box.
5. click the next button. the Image Metatata page is displayed.
6.click the next button. the summary page is displayed.
