2. Adatum Corp. deals in software development and testing. The head office of the company is located at Indianapolis and has 100 desktops with the Windows 7 OS. The organization is working on a new project on Windows 8 app development. As per the new project requirement, the management has decided to have the latest OS on all the desktops of the company. For this, the IT department head, Jones, has decided to migrate all the desktops from Windows 7 to Windows 8. This needs to be done in the next three days. However, prior to the OS deployment, Jones wants to view the details of all the desktops so that he can plan the deployment better. Help Jones to accomplish the desired tasks. Experiment To assess the infrastructure for deployment, you need to perform the following tasks: 1. Configure the MAP toolkit. 2. Collect the inventory data. 3. Collect the performance data. 4. Review the assessment and planning report.

task 1: Configuring  the MAP  Toolkit.
youn need to perform the following steps:
1. Switch to the EBDD_SRV1 virtual machine.
2. press the windows ket.
3. type microsoft assessment and planning toolkit.
4. click the microsoft Assessment and planning toolkit tile. After a few moments, the microsoft assessment
   and planning toolkit dialog box with the microsoft assessment and planning toolkit window is displayed.
5. type Adatum inventory in the name text box.
6. click the ok button.

task 2. Collecting the inventory data
you need to perform the folliwing steps:
1. click the perform an inventory link in the right pane. the inventory scenarios page of inventory and
   Assessment wizard is displayed.
2. select the windows computer check box.
3. click the next button. the Discovery methode page is displayed.
4. ensure that the use active directory Domain services (AD DS) check box is selected.
5. click the next button. the active directory credentials page is displayed.
6. type adatum.com in the domain.com in the text box.
7. type adatum\administrator in the domain account text box.
8. tye a$$w0rd in the password text box.
9. click the next button. active directory options page is displayed.
10. click the next button. the all computers credentials page is displayed.
11. click the create button. the account entry dialog box is displayed.
12. type adatum in the account name text box.
13. type Pa$$w0rd in the password text box.

task 3: collecting the performance data
you need to perform the following.

1. select the Enviroment option in the left pane.
2. click the collect performmance data link in the right pane. the collection configuration page of the
   performance metrics wizard is displayed.
3. set the ent time to 40 minutes more than the current system time.
4. click the next button. the choose computers page is displayed.
5. click the next button. the computers list page is displayed.
6. select the computer name check box in the right pane.
7. click the next button. the all computers order page is displayed.
8. click the next button. the credentials order page is displayed.
9. click the next button. the summary page is displayed.
10. click the finish button.


task 4: Reviewing the Assessment and planning Report.
you need to perform the following steps:

1. click the arrow(>) next to Environament in the address bar.
2. select Machine inventory results. the inventory results page is displayed.
3. click the Generate inventory Results report link in the right pane. the status dialog is displayed.
4. click the Close button. once the progress is complete.
5. click the arrow (>) nextto Environment in the address bar.
6.  report link in the right pane. the status dialog box displayed.
